(Python regius)

Description

Royal pythons (also known as ball pythons) are dark – usually black in colour with golden, yellow or light brown markings. They are popular in captivity and as a result a number of different colour morphs can be seen in captive specimens. They usually reach around 4ft long, with females generally being larger than males.

Habitat & Distribution

Forests in Central and Western Africa.

Diet

Small mammals.

Conservation Status

Least concern.
