(Tauraco erythrolophus)
Red-crested turacos have green bodies with long, blue-green tail feathers. The feathers on the underside of their wings are red and they have a red crest on top of their head which is where they get their name. These birds weigh less than half a kilogram.
These birds have a very limited range and are native only to Angola, a country in Central Africa. Here they can be found in tropical and sub- tropical lowland rainforests.
Red-crested turacos are frugivores, feeding mainly on fruit but they will also eat flowers, leaves, termites and seeds.
These birds could live for 5-9 years.
