INDIAN STICK INSECT

(Carausius morosus)

Description

Indian stick insects range in colour from dark brown to bright green. Adults can reach up to four inches in length. These insects are well camouflaged by their stick like appearance and can be tricky to spot on branches.

Habitat & Distribution

Originally from forests in India, this species has also been introduced to North America, South Africa and the UK.

Diet

A variety of leaves. In captivity they are regularly fed plants such as bramble and privet.
